Iran's daily oil production averaged 3.94 million barrels while its exports averaged 2.2 million barrels in 2010/2011 as oil accounted for nine per cent of the country's gross domestic production.
A report released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance shows exports of petroleum products including diesel, kerosene and liquefied gas grew 1.1 per cent in 2010/2011 while their domestic consumption dropped 4.5 per cent, Fars news agency reports.
Natural gas production grew 4.9 per cent over 2009/2010 and average daily consumption increased 6.8 per cent despite a greater customer base.
However, according to OPEC's latest monthly report published in mid-May, Iran's oil output decreased by 9 percent to 3.196 million barrels per day in April.
