Iran's leading car manufacturer, the Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO), announced that it plans to introduce a new pickup by the yearend in a bid to satisfy customers' demands and improve its market share, Fars reported.

IKCO Vice-President for Quality and Products Affairs Mir Javad Soleimani said that IKCO's new pickup passes Iran's 55 compulsory standards.

IKCO new pickup is going to be built on Peugeot 405 platform. The company will begin the mass production of this new product in the first quarter of 2013, intending to install 1700cc CNG-based OHVG2 engine on this pickup.

It is an optimized model of previous OHVG and meets Euro IV standard requirements.

One of the advantages of this engine is its fuel efficiency caused by the modifications done on its canister and manifolds.

Spacious cockpit, air conditioner, power steering and ABS are some of the facilities of IKCO new pickup, 30 thousand of which is going to be produced next year.
