Iran allocated $1.3 billion to purchase new aircrafts, Iranian National Development Fund head Mohammad Reza Farzin told journalists, ISNA news agency reported.
He said Iranian airlines should submit their projects in order to purchase aircrafts and they should be approved.
In recent years, frequent aircraft crashes have been observed in Iran. Iran cannot update its air fleet due to international sanctions.
Farzin did not disclose what kind of airplanes will be purchased.
