Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 24 /Trend S.Isayev, T. Jafarov/
Former Iranian president's son Mehdi Hashemi, who had just returned to Tehran on Sunday night after a three-year stay in Britain, was taken to the city's Evin prison after being interrogated at a security court, IRNA reported.
He was arrested on charges of propaganda against the state and corruption.
His sister, Faezeh Hashemi, was taken into custody Saturday after returning from a visit to London.
She had been sentenced in January to a six month jail term on similar propaganda charges, but was not immediately jailed due to the intervention of her father.
Like his father and sister, Hashemi is a fierce critic of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and did not acknowledge his re-election in the 2009 presidential vote, which was overshadowed by allegations of electoral fraud.
