Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy Habibollah Sayyari said that the Iranian armed forces have achieved self-sufficiency, adding that the Iranian experts are capable of designing, manufacturing, repairing, and maintaining defense equipment, IRNA reported.
"Iran was dependent on the West in the field of defense equipment before the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979," the navy commander during a visit to IRNA's stand in the 19th International Press and News Agencies Fair which is currently underway in Tehran.
He noted that the Iranian experts of the Iranian armed forces have achieved full self-sufficiency in the field of designing, manufacturing, repairing, and maintaining defense equipment.
