Iranians across the country mourn the anniversary of the death of Islam's Prophet Muhammad and the martyrdom of his grandson Imam Hassan, the second revered Imam of Shias, Press TV reported.
Millions of Iranian mourners all over the country marked the tragic events on Friday.
The 28th day of the month of Safar (the second month in the lunar calendar) marks the demise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and martyrdom of his elder grandson, Imam Hassan.
Iranians are also mourning the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (PBUH), the eighth Imam of Shias, who was martyred on the last day of the month of Safar.
