Two daughters of Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi, Zahra and Nargis have been detained by the security forces, Kaleme website reported.

According to the website, Iran's security forces raided their home, and arrested the girls. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

Two weeks ago, Mousavi's daughters said that they remain unaware of the conditions that their parents are being kept in.

Both Zahra and Nargis have called for the immediate and unconditional release of their parents, the capturing of which they called "kidnapping", claiming they were illegally detained.

Ex-presidential candidates Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi expressed protests against the results of the presidential elections in Iran on June 12, 2009.

Mousavi and Karroubi made statements about the election result being falsified.

According to observers, the protests which began in Iran after the elections have been held at a level having no analogue after the Islamic Revolution of 1979. Hundreds of political activists were arrested and dozens of citizens killed.

Mousavi and his wife Zahra Rahnavard have been placed under home arrest.
