Iran and UAE have assigned two representatives from each side, to solve the countries' mutual problems, Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar told journalists, IRIB News reported.

"Iran and UAE are friends, brothers and Muslim neighbors," Najjar said. "We have very good relations in economic, political spheres, as well as in security. Our relations grow day by day."

Najjar made the remaks after meeting with UAE's Interior Minister Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, the sides agreed on stronger security cooperation, greater communication and information exchange.

They also agreed that the traffic between two countries should increase.

Among other topics, the ministers discussed extremism, trafficking, money laundering, and other security issues.

Iran is a significant trade partner for the UAE, with trade volume between Iran and the emirate of Dubai alone estimated at about $10 billion a year.

There are no official figures for the number of Iranians in the UAE, although estimates put it at more than 400,000.
