Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian has participated in the 22nd edition of the World Energy Congress (WEC) which began today in South Korea, the Mehr News Agency reported.

More than 6,000 of the world's most prominent energy leaders have gathered in Daegu, South Korea for the 22nd World Energy Congress, according to the WEC website.

The event, held every three years, has attracted government ministers, industry leaders, NGOs, technology pioneers and energy experts from more than 113 countries.

Aimed at stimulating debate and finding solutions to the world's energy challenges, this year's Congress has adopted the theme "Securing Tomorrow's Energy Today".
