Iran’s diesel consumption falls by 15 percent

Iran's average diesel consumption stood at 85.3 million liters per day in the week ending October 18, the Tasnim News Agency reported.

The figure shows a 15.47 per cent decrease compared to the preceding week's 100.91 million liters.

October 12, with 107.7 million liters, and October 14 with 62.1 million liters recorded the highest and lowest rates of diesel oil consumption in the week.

Averagely some 92 liters of diesel oil were consumed daily in the previous calendar year, which ended on March 20.

The amount is 4.2 percent more than its preceding year.

Iran's kerosene consumption also hits record on October 14.

Some 17.5 million liters of kerosene was consumed in the mentioned day, which is a new record.

However, the country's total kerosene consumption in the past week faced a 5 percent decrease compared to its preceding week.

Some 94.6 million liters of kerosene was consumed in the week to October 18.

Iran's average kerosene consumption that week stood at around 13.514 million liters.

October 18 with 8.9 million liters recorded the lowest rate of kerosene consumption in mentioned week.
