Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has invited expatriates to help the country's health sector in any possible way, IRINN reported.

Rouhani made the remark at the 19th Razi Medical Festival in Tehran on January 12.

The Iranian president went on to note that the country needs to become self-sufficient in its vaccine production.

"Vaccine import is a problem the government is currently facing," he said.

"The government has taken urgent action to tackle the medicine shortage problem in the country," Rouhani added.

Referring to the administration's successful actions to import enough staple food, the Iranian president added that the government's move has improved the situation in the country's medicine market.
