Iran’s exports to Azerbaijan fall by 23 percent

Iran has exported 151,078 tonnes of goods, worth $24.511 million to Azerbaijan during the first Iranian calendar month of Farvardin(March 21-April 20) which indicates a fall of 22.91 percent in terms of value and 13.34 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period of last year.
Iran also imported some $4.7 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan during the period, some 150 percent more than the last year's first month, according to the Iranian Custom Administration's latest monthly report released on May 5.
The mentioned figures show that Iran's trade balance with Azerbaijan stood at $19.813 million in the last Iranian calendar month. Iran's trade balance with Azerbaijan stood at $450 million in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20.
Iran Customs administration reported that the country's exports to Azerbaijan surpassed $482 million during the last Iranian calendar year. Tehran also imported $32 million worth of goods from Baku in the mentioned period.
Iran's total non-oil exports to foreign countries (excluding gas condensates) stood at $2.045 billion in the calendar month of Farvardin, while the country's total imports amounted to $2.514 billion.
The figures mark monthly trade balance of negative 469 million dollars for Iran.
Iran's trade balance with 57 countries was positive. Iraq ($364 million), China ($250 million), Afghanistan ($99 million), Egypt ($48 million) and Turkmenistan ($40 million are on top of the list.
Tehran's trade balance with another 64 countries was negative during the period. The United Arab Emirates (-$394 million), South Korea (-$156 million), Germany (-$145 million), Turkey (-$117 million) and Switzerland (-$106 million) were the main top countries in this category.
