TEHRAN, Iran, August 5. Iran Ministry of Energy has prepared an early draft for the water transfer project from the Sea of Oman to Sistan and Baloucheshtan province, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.
The draft is being reviewed by the Plan and Budget Organization of Iran, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
The project is expected to accelerate water transportation by supporting investor companies, creating sustainable jobs and preserving the country's borders, and providing drinking water to Sistan and Baloucheshtan Province.
The project is aimed at responding to the water shortage problem in Sistan and Balouchestan, Iran’s largest province by area which is located along the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan.
