BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. The production at the Mehdiabad Zinc and Lead Complex of Yazd Province, located in central Iran, increased by 40.3 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the statement of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) said, Trend reports.
Iran's Mehdiabad zinc-lead complex produced 421,000 tons of minerals last year.
The complex produced 303,000 tons of zinc oxide and 118,000 tons of barite in Iran last year.
Additionally, the Mehdiabad zinc-lead complex sold 178,000 tons of zinc oxide and 105,000 tons of barite in Iran last year.
To note, the Mehdiabad zinc-lead complex is operating under the management of IMIDRO. It is reported that this complex has 154 million tons of lead and zinc reserves and 124 million tons of barite reserves.
