Iran’s Markazi Province boosts non-oil exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The exports of non-oil products from Iran's Markazi province increased by 54 percent in value terms and 37 percent in weight terms during two months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023), Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office Rouhollah Gholami said, Trend reports.

According to him, 316,000 tons of non-oil products worth $214 million were exported from Iran's Markazi province during two months.

Gholami noted that the products were exported to 62 countries. Of the products, 26 percent were exported to Afghanistan, 23 percent to Pakistan, 15 percent to Türkiye, 12 percent to Iraq, and 4 percent to the UAE.

The official added that during the two months, the region exported mainly liquefied gas, polyethylene, industrial oil, aluminum cans, glass containers, rubber products, and many others.

To note, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, in the first month of the current Iranian year, the country's exports of non-oil products amounted to 9.7 million tons worth $3.17 billion. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 16.9 percent in value terms and 9.66 percent in weight terms in the first month compared to the same month last year.
