BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. Iran's import of products from Kazakhstan increased by 13.9 percent in value and 24 percent in weight in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024) compared to the same month of last year, the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.
According to statistics, Iran's imports of products from Kazakhstan for the first month amounted to 7,700 tons worth $3.37 million.
The statistics show that Iran imported 6,200 tons of products worth $2.96 million from Kazakhstan during the first month of the last Iranian year.
Furthermore, the statistics add that Iran mainly imports wheat, barley, various types of machinery, and so on from Kazakhstan.
Moreover, it should be noted that Iran imported from Kazakhstan about 139,000 tons of products worth $63.3 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024). Iran's imports from Kazakhstan decreased by 49.3 percent in value and 49.7 percent in weight compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023).
However, for the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024), Iran's imports of non-oil products totaled 2.4 million tons valued at $2.7 billion. Non-oil imports decreased by 11.4 percent in value and increased by 33.4 percent in weight terms during the first month compared to the same month of last year.
To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on the import of products manufactured in the country.
