These days legal process is taking place in Uzbekistan over the first 15 participants of the well-known Andijan events. The Uzbek side took a decision to hold the process openly, including for the media, officials of diplomatic missions and international institutions aimed at compliance with the international norms and transparency, as well as displaying the readiness to establish the constructive dialogue with the foreign countries and the international organizations concerned.
Prior to the court procedure, the Prosecutor General’s office, as far as the investigation secrecy and the presumption of innocence allows, voiced the investigation materials. It reported on the work done to the independent parliamentary commission Olyi Majlis, the monitoring group, consisting of the diplomatic missions officials, accredited in the Uzbekistan. The deputy Prosecutor General held a briefing for the local and foreign journalists.

the investigation. The direct organizer of the Andijan events became the international network “Hizb ut-Tahrir” and one of its branches, as well as the international terrorist organization the “Islamic Movement of Turkestan”, coming out against the secular character of the state.
The organizers of the terrorist attacks as direct executors were elected among members of the religious extremist trend from Tashkent, Andijan, Fergan and other provinces of Uzbekistan, as well as Osh and Djalilabad provinces of Kirgizistan.
The report of the Uzbekistan Embassy to Azerbaijan notes that despite the urgency and professionalism, displayed by the force bodies, the Prosecutor General appreciated strictly the actions of the militia and the militaries. The actions of the 25 militia officials, who have not rebuffed to the bandit attacks were qualified as criminal and negligent.
