(IRNA) United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan will be in Brussels Tuesday for the Darfur pledging conference organized by the EU.
Annan will meet with EU President Jose Manuel Barroso Tuesday morning and later with EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana, reports Trend.
Brussels is organizing this international conference on Darfur together with the UN and the African Union with a two-fold objective: (1) to support implementation of the Darfur peace agreement, and (2) to enhance support for the African Union mission.
The one-day meeting will be divided into three sections: security, political and pledging.
