US Assistant Secretary of State to pay visit to Kyrgyzstan

(Kazakhstan today) - Richard Boucher, US Assistant Secretary of State, will pay a visit to Kyrgyzstan on 10 - 11 August, Kazakhstan Today correspondent reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

During his two-day visit Mr. Boucher will meet Kurmanbek Bakiyev, President of Kyrgyzstan, Felix Kulov, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, and Alikbek Djekshenkulov, Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, reports Trend.

It is the second visit of Mr. Boucher to Kyrgyzstan during the last half year. The US Assistant Secretary of State came to the republic in April.

The themes of discussions between Mr. Boucher and first persons of Kyrgyzstan are not published. Kyrgyz analysts believe that the aide to Condoleezza Rice arrives in Bishkek in relation with the complications in the relationship between Kyrgyzstan and the USA.

Earlier, on July 11, two workers of the embassy of the USA to Kyrgyzstan were expelled from Kyrgyzstan. In accordance with a statement issued by the MFA of Kyrgyzstan, the diplomats were deported on the basis of information from secret services: the US diplomats were accused of interfering in the interior affairs of the republic. Two workers of the embassy of Kyrgyzstan to the USA and Canada have been expelled without providing any explanation on August 2.
