(IRNA) - Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and his accompanying delegation here on Tuesday paid tribute to the Father of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini.
Mugabe, accompanied by a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, arrived here Sunday night for an official visit to discuss issues of mutual interest with senior Iranian officials.
He and his delegation started their visit by visiting the mausoleum of the late Imam in southern Tehran and laying a wreath on his grave, reports Trend.
Among those who attended the wreath-laying ceremony were a number of Iranian officials including Minister of Cooperatives Mohammad Abbasi.
On Monday afternoon, the Zimbabwean president was officially welcomed by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the Presidential Office.
Several letters of understanding are expected to be signed by the two sides before the Zimbabwean president ends his visit.
Zimbabwe's Minister of Foreign Affairs Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, Minister of Energy and Power Development Michael Nyambuya and Minister of Agriculture Joseph Made are in the delegation accompanying President Mugabe.
