President vows further development of western province

(IRNA) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that his government would do all that it can to further develop the western province of Kermanshah.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in this western capital city, he said Kermanshah has played a key role in shaping the national culture and civilization.

President Ahmadinejad's three-day visit to Kermanshah is his 23rd to various provinces of the country since the start of his initiative of bringing the government closer to the people, reports Trend.

He is scheduled to address local residents at the city's stadium a few minutes from now.

The president, who is accompanied by members of his cabinet, will be meeting with various Kermanshah officials, local residents of 14 cities, families of martyrs and war veterans and provincial elites during his three-day stay here.

He will preside over a cabinet session in Kermanshah city to discuss the province's problems and needs before he returns to Tehran on Thursday.
