( IRNA ) - Iranian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Hamid Reza Asefi said here Thursday that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches importance to expansion of ties with countries of the international community.
Asefi's remarks came during a meeting with UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Nuhayyan bin Mubarak al-Nuhayyan.
Iran is ready for all-out cooperation with the international community in the scientific field, Asefi said.
The two sides in the meeting reviewed avenues for expansion of mutual cooperation.
Underlining the importance of Iran-Abu Dhabi ties, the UAE minister said the two countries are symbols of friendship and brotherhood in the region.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is a regional power and the UAE is keen to broaden its ties with the country, he said, adding that exchange visits between high-ranking officials of the two countries have contributed to strengthening of relations.
Regional countries should broaden and consolidate relations in order to facilate smooth running of their internal affairs, he concluded.
