USD and pound fall, euro rises in Iran

Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov.15

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Euro was presented at the price of 33,515 rials at Iran's forex center today, a 226-rial rise compared to Thursday, Iran's Fars news agency reported on November 15.

The British pound and the US dollar were traded at 41,926 rials and 22,757 rials, respectively, showing 1,000 rials and 1 rials fall respectively.

The US dollar was also sold at the price of 32,610 rials at the free market on Nov. 13, while Euro and British pound were presented at the prices of 40,860 rials, and 51,800 rials, respectively.

The foreign exchange center was officially inaugurated on September 24, 2012.

The center allows importers of goods including truck tires, construction equipment and synthetic fibers to buy dollars at a rate 2 percent cheaper than the street rate at any given time.

According to the center's spokesman Samad Karimi, Iran's forex center has the capacity to trade over 100 million dollars each working day.
