Iran's gas refineries have produced more than 907,000 metric tons of sulfur during the first ten months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21, 2014- Jan. 21).

The figure indicates an increase by 14 percent compared the same period of preceding year, Abdolhossein Samari, an official with National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said, the oil ministry's official SHANA news agency reported Feb. 1.

During the same period over 21.99 million cubic meters (mcm) of condensates have been produced in the refineries, some 1.84 mcm more year on year, Samari said.

The official added that about 1.636 metric tons of LPG as well as 1.227 million metric tons of ethane were produced in the gas refineries in 10-month period.

The LPG and ethane output stood at 730,000 metric tons and 1.225 million metric tons respectively during the first 10 months of last year(March 21,2013-Jan. 21, 2014), Samari said.

It should be noted that the Islamic Republic holds 33.6 trillion cubic meters of proved gas reserves, sharing 18 percent of total global gas reserves which puts the country in the top of the world's gas holders list.
