By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran is ready to boost ties with Cyprus in energy, tourism, and health sectors.
Gholamhossein Shafei, chairman of Iran's chamber of commerce, industries, and mines said the two countries have launched joint ventures in oil and gas, tourism, road and rail transportation, and hotel construction, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on Feb. 21.
Shafei made the remarks in a meeting with Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, Cyprus's minister of energy, commerce, industry and tourism.
Lakkotrypis, for his part, said direct flights should be launched between the two countries to boost passenger and cargo transfer.
