By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran and Spain called for boosting bilateral ties in tourism and energy sectors.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Spanish Minister of Economy and Competitiveness Luis de Guindos met in Madrid, emphasizing the need to expand bilateral economic ties, Iran's IRIB reported on April 15.

During the meeting, Zarif reiterated that the two countries have the potential to enhance in tourism, transportation, and energy sectors.

The Spanish minister, for his part, expressed willingness for travel of his country's traders and industrialists to Iran for the expansion of economic relations between the two countries.

Spain was the 22nd biggest importer of Iranian non-oil goods in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, according to the Iran Customs Administration.

Iran exported $175.39 million of non-oil goods to Spain and imported $184.69 million of non-oil goods from the country.
