5 Iranian companies halt bus production

Production was halted in five Iranian bus manufacturers during the 5th calendar month of the current Iranian fiscal year (July 23-Aug. 22). Iran produced 29 buses during the period, 69.1 percent less compared to the same month of last fiscal year.

The production at Shahab Khodro, Yavaran Khodro, Horand Khodro Diesel, Pishro Diesel Asia and Akia Duich companies was completely halted in the mentioned period, Iran 's ISNA news agency reported Sept. 17.

Shahab Khodro produced 10, Yavaran Khodro manufactured three and Horand Khodro Diesel produced one buses respectively during the same period of the preceding year (July 23- Aug. 22, 2014).

However, Pishro Diesel Asia and Akia Duich companies produced 20 and 30 buses in the mentioned period last year.

Iran produced 84,161 cars in the fifth calendar month of Mordad (July 23-August 22), 9.4 percent more year-on-year.

Sedan car production rose by 17 percent and hit 76,634. Meanwhile, 6691 pick-up trucks and 29 buses were produced, 32.4 percent and 69.1 percent fall respectively.

In the first five months of the current Iranian fiscal year, 405,689 sedan cars were manufactured in Iran, a 17.5 percent rise year on year.

The country manufactured 1.13 million vehicles in the past Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, showing 53 percent growth compared to its preceding year.
