By Umid Niayesh- Trend:

Iran's oil production stood at 2.8 million barrels per day (mb/d) during the third quarter this year, showing no change in comparison to 2014, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in a report.

The Islamic Republic's oil output indicates an increase by 120,000 bpd compared to 2013.

The report doesn't include the gas condensate (a kind of ultra-light crude oil, produced in gas fields) production volumes. Iran produces about a half of million barrels per day of gas condensate, mostly from giant gas field South Pars.

Iran was third crude producer among the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), EIA said in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) report published Dec. 8.

Saudi Arabia, by producing 10.25 mb/d of oil in the third quarter of 2015, ranked first among OPEC member countries in terms of crude production, followed by Iraq with 4.33 mb/d.

The EIA estimates that OPEC crude oil production averaged 30.98 mb/d in 2015, indicating a slight rise compared to 30.08 mb/d in 2014.

The administration also forecasted that OPEC's crude oil output will reach 31.29 mb/d in 2016.

The figure for the first nine months of 2015 amounted for 31.41 mb/d.

EIA estimates that OPEC produced 6.48 mb/d of non-crude oil liquids in third quarter this year, indicating slight rise compared to 6.26 mb/d in 2014.

OPEC non-crude liquids production is expected to be averaged at 6.45 mb/d in 2015 and 6.76 mb/d in 2016.
