Tehran and Baku have discussed trilateral ties among Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia on facilitating transfer of goods from the Islamic Republic to the Russian Federation, says Mahmoud Vaezi, Iranian minister for information and communication technologies.

"Russia's decision to stop importing some goods from Turkey and Europe has created a good chance for Iranian businessmen," Vaezi said Dec. 21 at the joint Azerbaijan-Iran economic cooperation commission meeting in Tehran Dec. 21, Trend's correspondent reported from the venue event.

He further said discussions were held between Iran and Azerbaijan regarding transportation projects, adding that the Islamic Republic's railways will be connected to Azerbaijan's railways in the future, which is projected to be done as part of the North-South transport corridor.

The North-South transport corridor will connect northern Europe to South-East Asia. It will serve as a bridge to connect the railways of Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia.

The minister also said that Baku and Tehran are reviewing a proposal on the working hours of customs services along the two countries' borders.

Vaezi explained that the proposal suggests introduction of the round-the-clock working hours.
