Tehran, Iran, Aug. 19

Iran’s export of gas oil since the beginning of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20) has seen a huge improvement compared to the same period last year.
While last year in the said period Iran exported 3.5 million liters of gas oil, it managed to export 13 million liters of the product this year so far, 430 percent of last year’s amount, SHANA news agency reported Aug. 19.
The country has the capacity to increase the number to 20 million, the report said, considering its current domestic consumption and plans underway to replace gas oil with natural gas.
Also, Iran has exported 50 million liters of mazut per day in the said time period, one of the highest amounts worldwide.
The country exported 400,000 barrels of oil products per day in the current Iranian year.
