Iran’s ICT ministry plans to lure 16 billion euros in investment over the next five years, ICT minister Mahmud Vaezi said.

Vaezi said that under the plan, the government and the private sector are expected to make the investment in order to develop the country’s information and communications technology, IRNA news agency reported.

Addressing a two-day conference on investment opportunities in Iran’s telecoms industry in Tehran, Vaezi added that the government is expected to make one-fourth of the investment and private sector will provide the rest.

Calling on the foreign investors to invest in Iran’s ICT, he assured them that the government will give support for those who do business in the Islamic Republic.
