Iran has produced at least 4.124 million tons of various types of steel over the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 20).
Hot rolled sheets formed about 60 percent of the output, IRNA news agency reported.
The report has studied the output of major steel producers including Khouzestan Oxin Steel Co, Iran National Steel Industrial Group, Ahwaz Rolling and Pipe Mills co, Khorasan Steel Complex, Chahar Mahal & Bakhtiari Automotive Sheet, Azarbayjan Steel, Iran Alloy Steel Company, Esfahan Steel Company and Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company.
The producers’ output surpassed 4.499 million tons in the same period last year.
The report revealed that, the producers overall made 2.465 million tons of Hot rolled sheets.
The Islamic Republic’s steel output throughout 2015 is estimated to have hit 16.11 million tons. This in its own turn shows a decline of 1.4 percent year-on-year.
Iran also produced 16.331 million tons of crude steel in 2014.
The country’s crude steel production reached 15.421 million tons in 2013, which was 6.6 percent more than its preceding year.
