Iran’s Energy Exchange is slated to resume offering the country’s diesel through its international ring within the next week.

Ali Hosseini, the head of Iran’s Energy Exchange, has said that offering the country’s diesel at Energy Exchange is aimed at increasing the volume of diesel exports, SHANA news agency reported Oct. 10.

According to the official, the country is expected to export 10,000 tons of diesel to Afghanistan, 5,000 tons to Pakistan and 10,000 tons to Iraq.

Iran exported 31.76 million liters of diesel to Afghanistan during the first half of the current fiscal year (started March 20).

The Islamic Republic also exported 224.1 million liters of diesel to Afghanistan and Central Asian countries in the last fiscal year.

Iran plans to export 20 million liters of diesel per day during the current fiscal year.

The country's average diesel export has stood at 14 million liters per day since March 20.

Iran used to feed its power plants with diesel and fuel oil, but later replaced them with gas, which helped the country to save liquid fuels, including diesel.
