Iran is capable to manufacture large tankers and vessels, Mansour Moazzami, the Iranian deputy industry minister said, the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) reported.
Moazzami, who heads the IDRO, said that his organization is ready to supply the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) with large ships and vessels based on global prices.
He further said that post-sanctions era has provided an opportunity for Iran to develop its industry via cooperation with the world.
Iran launched its third ocean liner named Iran-Kashan on Oct. 18 during a ceremony attended by Vice-president Eshaq Jahangiri.
The ocean liner is manufactured by IDRO’s subsidiary, Shipbuilding & Offshore Industries Complex Co (ISOICO).
The ISOICO, located in the Persian Gulf functions as shipbuilder and ship-repairer of different types of vessels and offshore structures.
ISOCO is the biggest shipping company in the Middle East which has delivered two other similar ocean liners to the IRISL dubbed Iran-Arak and Iran-Shahrekord.
