A Danish oil delegation is in Iran holding talks with counterparts to seek cooperation venues, Mehr news agency reported November 25.

The delegation is made up of 11 Danish oil and gas companies and it has held talks with Iranians on engineering services, knowhow transfer, offshore industries, oil and gas pipelines, and pigging.

Danish Ambassador to Tehran Danny Annan told reporters that the oil and gas companies are ready to invest in Iran.

“Since last year, Denmark’s exports to Iran have hiked as much as 78 percent, a trend which is expected to continue in the post-sanctions era,” he stated.

In the meantime, one of the delegation members and head of a Danish oil association said he was hopeful that Danish oil companies open offices in Iran to follow their activities more closely.

He said Danish companies are interested in working with Iran at the Caspian Sea as well as in the offshore sector.
