SAIPA, a leading Iranian carmaker, has unveiled its latest low-cost car named Kwid.
Iranian Minister of Industry Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani attended a ceremony for unveiling the car, ILNA news agency reported.
According to the report, Kwid is powered by a 1,500 cc engine and weighs 1,063 kilograms.
The new car is expected to be supplied in two versions – with automatic or manual transmission.
The report added that Kwid meets the Euro 4 standards and will be offered at about $10,000 (350,000,000 rials).
Over 1.225 million cars were produced in Iran in the first 11 months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20, 2016-Feb. 20, 2017).
