Iran will add 16 million liters per day (ml/d) of gasoline to its output soon, CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Abbas Kazemi said Mar. 6.
He added that the first phase of Persian Gulf Star Refinery will become operational in spring and the completion of enhancement projects at the Bandar Abbas and Lavan refineries will add 16 ml/d to the country’s gasoline production, SHANA reports.
The first phase of Persian Gulf Star Refinery is aimed at producing 12 ml/d of Euro 4 standard gasoline.
He added that the second phase of Persian Gulf Star Refinery (with the same capacity as the first phase) will become operational next winter.
Kazemi said 80 percent of Iran’s produced gasoline will be based on Euro 4 standard by March 2018.
Iran produces about 62 ml/d of gasoline and according to a report released by Tasnim on March 6, the country increased gasoline import significantly during last two months.
