Iran’s gasoline consumption increased by 5.1 percent to 74.2 million liters per day (ml/d) during the current fiscal year (FY), compared to the previous year, IRNA reported Mar.14.

Iran’s fiscal year started on March 21.

The report didn’t mention the imported gasoline volume, but recently Tasnim reported that Iran increased gasoline import by 2.2 ml/d to 12 ml/d during the current FY.

The imports in the first half of current Iranian month (Feb.21-Mar.5) increased significantly to 34 ml/d, the report said.

It seems that Iran has boosted gasoline import recently due to expected consumption level during the Nowruz holidays.

IRNA also reported that it is expected the country’s gasoline consumption to increase to 100 ml/d during the Nowruz holidays.
