Iran’s gas output increases - BP

Iran’s gas output increased by 6.6 percent to 202.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2016, compared to the previous year, BP said June 14 in its annual report.

The mentioned figure is Iran’s refined gas output.

According to an official document, prepared by Iran’s oil ministry and seen by Trend, the country produced 285 bcm of gross gas (including re-injection and flaring), of which 230 bcm was sale gas during the last fiscal year, ended March 20.

The final refined gas output also stood at 204.77 bcm.

The report says Iran’s gas consumption also increased by 5 percent to 200.8 bcm.

Iran also exported 8.4 bcm and imported 6.9 bcm of gas in 2016.

The proved gas reserves of Iran remained unchanged at 33.5 trillion cubic meters, while oil reserves stood at 158.4 billion barrels.

Iran produced 4.6 million barrels per day (mb/d) of crude oil, gas condensate and NGls during last year. The figure was 3.897 mb/d in 2015.
