A French company is investing $20 million in a shrimp processing project in Iran, Mehr news agency reported July 2.

The project will include the entire range from farming shrimp to bringing the processed products to end users, said Majid Moafegh Ghadiri, head of the Association of Animal Feed Industries.

To be completed in three years, this project will bring the state-of-the-art technology to Iran, he said.

As part of the project that will come on stream this year (Iranian fiscal year to end March 20), the country will earn $8 million out of the export of shrimp and aquatic food, Ghadiri added.
