Indonesia keen to boost trade ties with Iran

Indonesian envoy to Tehran, Ocatvino Alimudin, has forecasted a five-fold surge in trade ties between the two countries over the current year.

The envoy said that the trade between Iran and Indonesia currently stands at $340 million, Mehr news agency reported.

Alimudin further touched upon banking cooperation between the two countries, saying his country plans to carry out bilateral trade through national currencies.

The ambassador also expressed interest in investing $7 billion in an Iranian oil field namely Mansouri.

Mansouri is a large oil field in the southwestern province of Khuzestan with over 15 billion barrels of in-situ oil.
