Mutual trade turnover between Iran and the US stood at $125.6 million during the first eight months of 2017, 25 percent less compared to the same period of the preceding year.
The US exports to Iran reached $82.7 million in the 8-month period, which is 23.8 percent less year-on-year, according to the statistics of the United States Census Bureau.
Iran’s export to US decreased by about 27.2 percent to $42.8 million in the same time span, according to the report.
In August, Iran and the US had a trade turnover worth $38.2 million, $34.7 million of which accounted for US exports to Iran.
During last August, the figure was $27.6 million, $16.8 million of which accounted for Iran’s export to US.
Iran’s exports to the US registered a fall by 79 percent , meanwhile the country’s imports from the United States increased by 221 percent.
During the last year, the US exported $172 million worth of goods to Iran, mostly agriculture products and medical equipment, and imported $86 million worth of goods from Iran, mostly pistachios and carpets.
