The Central Bank of Iran has refused to endorse Bitcoin, pledging to declare its transparent policies regarding the cryptocurrency in future.
“The Central Bank of Iran in no ways endorses Bitcoin,” the governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Valiollah Seif, was quoted as saying by Iranian media on Wednesday.
“Despite the fact that the trades of Bitcoin has become common in Iran, the people should remain vigilant about the issue,” he added.
The official further warned against the risks of the cryptocurrecny and said the CBI has conducted studies about Bitcoin.
The price of Bitcoin in the global markets experienced a dramatic surge over the past year reaching $14,234 on Wednesday form $1000 last January.
