Performance of Iran’s gold & currency markets on Jan. 27

Gold coin was traded in Iran at 14,740,000 rials (about $326.8 on the free market rates) on Jan.27.

According to data on the website of the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union, one gram of the 18-karat gold was priced at 1,438,290 rials (about $31.8), indicating a drop of 1.14 percent compared to the preceding day.

According to the country’s real-time data sharing system, SANA, euro valued 56,413 rials on the free market, dropping by 0.05 percent. The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) put the official rate of euro at 45,800 rials.

The USD was quoted at 45,100 rials on the free market losing 0.69 percent compared to the preceding day. The CBI put the official rate for the greenback at 36,860 rials.
