Iran’s gasoline consumption grows versus diesel consumption

Daily gasoline consumption in Iran registered an increase by 8 percent during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year (started March 20, 2017).

The country’s average daily gasoline consumption stood at 80.2 million liters, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said Feb. 22.

The average gasoline consumption in 11th Iranian calendar month (Jan. 21-Feb. 19) stood at 77.9 million liters per day, 8.8 percent more compared to the same period of preceding year.

The highest amount of gasoline consumption in the last calendar month was related to Feb. 10 (Saturday) on which 91.6 million liters of gasoline was consumed.

The lowest rate of gasoline consumption in the mentioned period was recorded on Feb. 16 (Friday) with 63.7 million liters.

The country's diesel consumption during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year amounted to 82.7 million liters per day, 3.6 more less year-on-year. The diesel consumption in 11th Iranian calendar month stood at 95.8 million liters per day, registering a 5 percent fall compared to the same month of preceding year.

Iran’s gasoline output currently stands at 78 million liters on a daily basis. The country plans to increase the output to above 80 million liters per day in future.
