Samsung has dominant share in Iran’s mobile phone market

A recent statistics by Cafe Bazaar, the largest local app store in Iran, indicates that Samsung enjoys a cracking share in Iran’s smart phone market.

Over 51 percent of Iranians who use android based mobile phones are using Samsung brand’s devices, according to the data.

Based on the Cafe Bazaar’s latest quarterly report, there are over 35 million users of Android phones in Iran.

Android devices are dominant in Iran’s smart phone market, with an estimated 87 percent share of total devices, followed by IOS (12 percent).

Samsung’s Galaxy J5 (2017, 2016, Prime) series have the largest share in the market (9 percent), followed by Galaxy J7 (7 percent), Galaxy J1(4 percent), Galaxy A5(3 percent), Galaxy J3( 2 percent), Galaxy A3 and A7 each 2 percent.

Huawei’s XE8 and X8D models jointly has a 3 percent share from market, meanwhile the share of the Chinese brand’s G7, G750, G730, G700 models account for 2 percent of the android device market in total.
