Iran signs deal with Germany’s Raschig

Iran’s Research Center of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) signed a confidentiality agreement (CA) with Germany’s Raschig company for cooperation in gas sweetening.

The deal was signed by Mansour Bazmi, head of RIPI’s technology and international relations department and Raschig representative on the sidelines of of the Iran Oil and Gas Show in Tehran May 7, the oil ministry’s SHANA news agency reported.

Bazmi said that the sides will cooperate for increasing the capacity of distillation towers in oil and gas refineries.

Raschig technology will be used for updating the distillation towers, in order to increase the sweetening capacity of the gas refineries, he added.

Last year, the two sides signed a MoU for transfer of technology on equipment used in distillation columns in refineries and petrochemical plants, designing the distillation columns based on the products of the Germany company, training specialists and experts of RIPI in related spheres.

RIPI that has conducted a series of activities on designing distillation columns, will be able to use new approaches of Raschig in its projects.

The Research Institute of Petroleum Industry is a governmental research institute founded in 1959 in Tehran, Iran and is affiliated with National Iranian Oil Company. The institute is a major research institute in Iran and is the largest of its kind in the Middle East. RIPI has become a major technology provider for Iran’s petroleum industry.
