Loading/unloading of oil products at Iranian ports falls

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has loaded and unloaded more than 3.78 million tons of oil products at its ports across the country over the second month of the Iranian fiscal year (April 20-May 21).

The figure stood at 4.075 million tons over the preceding calendar month (March 20-April 20).

The oil product loading/unloading in Iranian ports has decreased by 8.3 percent in the last Iranian calendar month, year-on-year, according to the latest data available on the PMO website.

The figure also registered a fall by 7.2 percent, on a monthly basis.

According to the report, 11 out of POM’s 20 ports, including Abadan, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Chabahar, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Fereydounkenar, Qeshm and Lengeh were involved in oil product loading/unloading during the period.

The data indicates that 1.591 million tons of oil products were unloaded at Iranian ports, 17.2 percent less year-on-year.

Meanwhile, 2.187 million tons of oil products were loaded at the ports, which was 0.5 percent less compared to the one-month period of the preceding year.

In general, over 7.84 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports during the first two months of the current fiscal year (March 20-May 21), indicating a 6.6-percent increase year-on-year.

Iranian ports saw loading and unloading of a total of 12.39 million tons of various goods and commodities, including food and metal products between April 20 to May 21, 1.9 percent less year-on-year.

In total, over 153 million tons of various goods have been loaded/unloaded at Iranian ports during the last fiscal year, including 46.7 million tons of oil products.

The volume is 5.5 percent more than the loaded/unloaded products in the preceding year.
