Bulgaria keen to exchange technical knowledge with Iran, minister says

The Bulgarian minister of labor and social policy said Sofia in keen to exchange technical knowledge and engineering experiences with Iran.

“There are many similarities between the two ministries in terms of duties, which can be a good basis for further cooperation of both sides,” Biser Petkov said during a recent meeting with Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei, IRNA news agency reported on June 5.

The two ministers met on the sidelines of the 107th session of the international labor conference underway in the Swiss city of Geneva.

Petkov added that Iran can also send its skilled manpower to Bulgaria so that they can deliver their technology and knowledge to the Balkan nation.

Rabiei, for his part, hailed Bulgaria’s interest for further cooperation with Iran in various work-related fields, stressing that Tehran was ready to cooperate with Sofia in the areas of job safety technical and vocational education, and protection for the disabled.

The annual conference, taking place from May 28 to June 8 brings together the tripartite delegations from the organization’s 187 member states to consider a series of topics related to the world of work, placed on its agenda by the Governing Body of the International Labor Organization [ILO].
