Iran Central Bank reports on capital market performance

The main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) increased by 24.7 percent over the last fiscal year, ended March 20, according to the latest statistics released by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

The CBI said that the TSE main index reached 96,290 points in the 12-month period ending March 20.

In the meantime, compared to the preceding month the main index dropped by 1.9 percent.

TSE financial index declined by 9.6 percent and stood at 119,176 at the end of the last fiscal year, according to the report.

Meanwhile the TSE industrial index surged by 30.2 percent to stand at 86.082, top 50 performers index increased by 33 percent posting 4,036, the first market index rose by 25.1 percent reaching 68,124.

The second market index also gained 24.1 percent and stood at 206,487 at the same time.

The number of the traded shares decreased by 0.8 percent year-on-year and amounted to 250,607 million shares.

The value of the hand changed shares accounted to 539,075 billion rials during the 12-month period to March 20, 0.2 percent less year-on-year.

Number of the registered companies in the TSE stood at 326 by March 20, compared to 325 by March 20, 2017, the CBI said.
